Browns Notebook: Starting guard Jason Pinkston placed on injured reserve with blood clot in his lung

BEREA: The Browns officially ruled out left guard Jason Pinkston for the season as he fights to recover from a blood clot in his lung. Pinkston was placed on injured reserve Monday. The Browns (1-6) filled his roster spot by signing offensive lineman Jarrod Shaw. After feeling sick for a few weeks, Pinkston, 25, was taken to the emergency room and hospitalized Thursday. He remains at the Cleveland Clinic, a team spokesman said Monday. “My blood is just not quite therapeutic yet for me to leave, and [I’ll] just continue on medications,” Pinkston wrote on Twitter.
